Responsibilities
- Process emergency/non-emergency calls and dispatch appropriate units using CAD/RMS systems
- Maintain constant radio communication with field units during critical incidents
- Enter and update information in law enforcement databases with precision
- Provide crisis intervention and pre-arrival instructions to callers
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during major incidents
- Operate various communication equipment including radios, telephones, and alerting systems
- Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols and departmental policies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and polygraph examination
- Strong typing skills (minimum 40 WPM) with computer proficiency
- Exceptional communication and multitasking abilities
- Must be able to work flexible rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Valid Texas driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to remain calm under pressure during emergency situations
- U.S. citizenship and residency in Texas required
