Responsibilities
- Process emergency/non-emergency calls with calm precision and accuracy
- Operate CAD/RMS systems for incident tracking and resource deployment
- Dispatch police units using radio and digital communication protocols
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and incidents
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Provide life-saving instructions via emergency medical protocols
- Monitor security systems and alarms for city facilities
- Complete mandatory state dispatcher certification training
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid California Driver's License
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Pass background check and polygraph examination
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM (verified test required)
