Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls with professionalism and compassion
- Operate radio communication systems to coordinate police, fire, and medical services
- Enter and update critical information in CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) systems
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation of all communications
- Provide clear, concise instructions to callers during emergencies
- Collaborate with law enforcement and first responders during crisis situations
- Adhere to all department policies and confidentiality protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Ability to type 40+ WPM (typing test required)
- Excellent communication and multitasking skills
- Strong decision-making abilities under pressure
- Valid California driver's license (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency status
