Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with professionalism and urgency
- Dispatch police units using radio communication systems
- Enter and maintain accurate incident data in CAD/RMS systems
- Provide critical information to officers during active incidents
- Coordinate with other emergency services (EMS, Fire)
- Maintain calm and effective communication during high-stress situations
- Complete all required training modules to become a certified dispatcher
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Excellent communication and multitasking skills
- Basic computer proficiency with ability to learn specialized software
- Ability to remain calm under extreme pressure
- Must pass typing test (minimum 35 WPM)
- Valid Indiana driver's license
