Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls using CAD systems
- Dispatch appropriate law enforcement, fire, and EMS units
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation
- Provide critical pre-arrival instructions to callers
- Operate radio equipment and multi-line telephone systems
- Coordinate with other agencies during multi-jurisdictional incidents
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM (verified test required)
- No felony convictions; clean background check
- Ability to pass psychological and drug screening
- Strong multitasking and decision-making abilities
- Proficient with computer systems and databases
- Valid Louisiana driver's license
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/weekends
