Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and administrative lines
- Dispatch appropriate personnel (police, fire, EMS) using CAD/RMS systems
- Maintain detailed records of all communications in compliance with state/federal regulations
- Provide critical information to field units during active incidents
- Operate radio equipment and multi-line telephone systems efficiently
- Coordinate with other agencies during multi-jurisdictional incidents
- Participate in continuous training programs to enhance emergency response capabilities
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Clear criminal background and driving record
- Valid Texas Driver's License upon hire
- Proficient in computer systems and multitasking under pressure
- Strong situational judgment and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to pass written exams, background checks, and psychological evaluation
