Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with exceptional accuracy and empathy
- Operate computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems and radio communications
- Coordinate with law enforcement, fire, and medical personnel during critical incidents
- Maintain detailed logs and documentation of all communications
- Provide critical information to officers in the field using precise protocols
- Assist in training new dispatchers and updating department procedures
- Monitor multiple channels simultaneously during high-stress situations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework preferred
- Minimum 40 WPM typing proficiency with 95% accuracy
- Ability to pass extensive background check and psychological evaluation
- Valid Arizona driver's license with clean driving record
- Experience with multi-tasking in high-pressure environments
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with radio systems
- Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
