Responsibilities
- Process 911 calls, prioritize emergencies, and dispatch appropriate police/fire/EMS resources
- Maintain accurate real-time status tracking of all units via CAD/RMS systems
- Provide life-saving pre-arrival instructions to callers during medical emergencies
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents and disasters
- Document all communications with precise detail and legal compliance
- Operate radio systems, emergency alert platforms, and mapping technology
- Train on specialized protocols for crisis intervention and domestic violence response
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Ability to pass background check, polygraph, and psychological evaluation
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Valid Tennessee driver's license (no DUI/DWI convictions in past 5 years)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic computer systems
- Ability to remain calm during high-stress emergency situations
- Excellent verbal communication and active listening skills
- Must be 18+ years old and US citizen
