Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency and non-emergency calls from the public.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical personnel to the scene of incidents.
- Enter and update incident details into the Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system.
- Maintain constant communication with field units and update them on changing situations.
- Provide information to callers, including directions and instructions for immediate action.
- Monitor police radio frequencies and respond to officer requests for assistance.
- Document all calls and dispatch actions accurately and efficiently.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening.
- Strong typing skills (minimum 35 WPM).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Calm demeanor under pressure and the ability to multitask effectively.
- U.S. Citizenship or legal residency status.
