Responsibilities
- Process emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and administrative lines with accuracy and empathy
- Dispatch police units using CAD systems while maintaining situational awareness
- Multi-task between radio communication, call-taking, and data entry during high-volume incidents
- Adhere to strict protocols for crisis intervention, medical triage, and resource allocation
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and incident activities
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies, fire departments, and EMS during joint operations
- Participate in continuous training to master new technologies and emergency procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in criminal justice preferred
- Minimum 40 WPM typing speed with 95% accuracy
- Ability to pass background check, polygraph, and psychological evaluation
- Experience with multi-line phone systems or similar technology
- Strong de-escalation and active listening skills
- Ability to remain calm during critical incidents and make sound decisions
- Valid New Mexico driver's license with clean record
- Must be 18+ years old and a U.S. citizen
