Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with precision and compassion
- Operate radio equipment to dispatch police, fire, and medical units
- Maintain accurate call logs and documentation in CAD systems
- Provide critical information to field units during emergency situations
- Coordinate resources during multi-agency incidents
- Remain calm and professional under high-stress conditions
- Perform data entry and record management duties
- Participate in ongoing training to enhance operational knowledge
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED required)
- Ability to pass background investigation and polygraph examination
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM (certified test required)
- Clear speaking voice and excellent communication skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Basic computer proficiency with MS Office applications
- Valid California driver's license
- No felony convictions and clean driving record
