Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and administrative lines
- Dispatch police units using CAD/RMS systems with accuracy and urgency
- Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers during medical/fire/police emergencies
- Maintain detailed call logs and incident documentation
- Coordinate with multiple agencies (fire, EMS, CHP) during critical incidents
- Operate radio equipment and emergency notification systems
- Remain calm under extreme pressure during crisis situations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- U.S. citizenship and valid California driver's license
- Pass background investigation, polygraph, and drug screening
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 90% accuracy
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Clear speaking voice with excellent verbal communication skills
- No felony convictions or domestic violence restraining orders
- Basic computer proficiency (Windows OS, data entry)
