Responsibilities
- Answer and prioritize emergency and non-emergency calls with calm professionalism
- Operate radio communication systems to coordinate field units
- Enter and update information in CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) systems
- Provide critical instructions to callers during medical or crisis situations
- Multi-task between multiple communication channels simultaneously
- Maintain detailed and accurate call logs and documentation
- Collaborate with law enforcement, fire, and medical teams
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM (testing provided)
- Clear communication skills in English (bilingual Spanish a plus)
- Ability to remain composed during high-stress situations
- Valid California driver's license or ability to obtain one
- U.S. citizenship or legal authorization to work
- No felony convictions
