Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and administrative lines
- Dispatch police officers, fire, and EMS units using CAD/RMS systems
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation
- Provide crisis intervention and pre-arrival instructions to callers
- Operate radio equipment and multi-line telephone systems
- Coordinate with other agencies during multi-jurisdictional incidents
- Complete mandatory training modules and certification requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to type 35+ WPM (typing assessment required)
- U.S. citizenship and valid North Carolina driver's license
- Pass criminal background check and polygraph examination
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/holidays
- Basic computer proficiency with MS Office Suite
- Clear articulation and neutral accent for radio communication
- No felony convictions or misdemeanor domestic violence charges
