Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with accuracy and empathy
- Dispatch appropriate police, fire, and EMS units to incident locations
- Maintain detailed records of all communications in CAD/RMS systems
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Provide life-saving instructions via emergency medical protocols
- Monitor radio frequencies for real-time situational awareness
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Basic computer proficiency with typing speed of 40+ WPM
- Ability to pass criminal background check and drug screening
- Strong verbal communication and active listening skills
- Ability to remain calm under high-pressure situations
- U.S. citizenship and valid Kentucky driver's license
- No felony convictions or disqualifying misdemeanors
- Successful completion of dispatcher aptitude assessment
