Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls for police, fire, and EMS services
- Operate CAD/RMS systems to dispatch appropriate resources and maintain accurate records
- Provide clear, concise instructions to callers during critical incidents
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during major incidents or disasters
- Maintain situational awareness and communicate effectively with field units
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and HIPAA protocols for sensitive information
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM with 90% accuracy
- Valid driver's license with clean record
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and polygraph examination
- Strong multitasking abilities under high-pressure conditions
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and willing to learn specialized dispatch software
- No felony convictions or misdemeanor domestic violence charges
