Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with speed and accuracy
- Dispatch police, fire, and medical units using CAD/RAD systems
- Maintain detailed logs and documentation of all communications
- Provide critical information to field personnel and the public
- Operate multi-channel radio systems during high-stress situations
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance standards
- Participate in continuous training and certification programs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 18 years of age (21 for armed roles)
- Clear criminal background and driving record
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to pass psychological evaluation and drug screening
- Strong multitasking and conflict resolution skills
- Basic computer proficiency with Windows OS
- Valid Texas driver's license at time of hire
