Responsibilities
- Process emergency/non-emergency calls with calm professionalism and accuracy
- Operate CAD/RMS systems and radio equipment per department protocols
- Coordinate with police, fire, EMS, and other agencies during critical incidents
- Maintain detailed call logs and documentation per NCIC standards
- Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers in crisis situations
- Complete mandatory training modules within 90-day probation period
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum 40 WPM typing certification
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Valid NC driver's license (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- No felony convictions; misdemeanor case-by-case review
- Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts including nights/weekends
- Basic computer literacy and multi-tasking aptitude
