Responsibilities
- Receive and process emergency 911 calls with high accuracy and urgency.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical service units to incident locations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all communications and incidents.
- Monitor department radio frequencies and CCTV systems to respond to officer needs.
- Provide vital information and instructions to callers until first responders arrive.
- Operate computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems effectively under pressure.
- Escalate calls to supervisors when critical situations arise.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and remain calm in high-stress, emergency situations.
- Basic computer literacy and typing skills.
- Must pass a background check, drug screen, and medical evaluation.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays.
