Responsibilities
- Receive and process emergency and non-emergency calls for service with speed and accuracy.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical personnel to appropriate locations based on incident details.
- Monitor and operate computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems and radio communication equipment.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date logs and records of all dispatched incidents.
- Provide essential information to callers and update them on the status of emergency responses.
- Collaborate effectively with field units and other emergency service agencies.
- Assist in the preparation of administrative reports and documentation as required.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and in high-stress situations.
- Strong typing and computer proficiency skills.
- Valid North Carolina driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and medical evaluation.
