Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls for police, fire, and medical services
- Operate computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems and radio communications equipment
- Provide pre-arrival medical instructions via telephone
- Coordinate resources during critical incidents and disasters
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation of all communications
- Collaborate with law enforcement, fire, and EMS agencies
- Complete mandatory training programs to become fully certified
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and polygraph examination
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM with 95% accuracy
- Valid driver's license with no more than 3 points in past year
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- U.S. citizenship and residency in DC, MD, or VA
- Experience in customer service, emergency services, or public safety preferred
- Fluency in English; bilingual Spanish speakers strongly encouraged
