Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with calm efficiency and precise information gathering
- Operate computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems and radio equipment during training and active duty
- Coordinate with officers, firefighters, and EMS personnel during critical incidents
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation of all communications per department protocols
- Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers during medical or crisis situations
- Adhere to strict confidentiality standards when handling sensitive information
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Proficient in typing with minimum 40 WPM accuracy
- Strong multitasking abilities under high-pressure conditions
- Excellent verbal communication and active listening skills
- Basic computer literacy with willingness to learn specialized dispatch software
- Must be 18+ years old and possess valid Texas driver's license
