Responsibilities
- Answer 911 and non-emergency calls with professionalism and empathy
- Dispatch police, fire, and EMS units efficiently during emergency situations
- Maintain accurate call logs and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) records
- Provide pre-arrival medical instructions via EMD protocols
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Operate radio systems and specialized emergency software
- Adhere to all FCC regulations and departmental procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- U.S. citizenship and valid Missouri driver's license
- Pass criminal background check and drug screening
- Ability to type 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Clear speaking voice and strong active listening skills
- Ability to remain calm during high-stress emergency situations
- Basic computer proficiency with Windows OS
- No felony convictions or domestic violence restraining orders
