As a dispatcher trainee, you'll operate advanced communication systems, manage emergency calls, and coordinate resources during critical incidents. Responsibilities
- Dispatch police officers and emergency services to incidents via radio and digital systems
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with speed, accuracy, and empathy
- Maintain detailed logs and records of all communications and activities
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Operate Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) and mapping systems
- Provide critical information to officers and the public during emergencies
- Participate in continuous training and certification programs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED required)
- Ability to pass extensive background check and drug screening
- Excellent verbal communication and active listening skills
- Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions during emergencies
- Basic computer proficiency with ability to learn specialized software
- No felony convictions and clean driving record
- Ability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be a U.S. citizen and Nebraska resident
