Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls with professionalism and speed
- Operate radio communication systems to coordinate police, fire, and EMS responses
- Input and maintain accurate computer-aided dispatch (CAD) records
- Remain calm under pressure during critical incidents
- Provide clear instructions to callers during emergency situations
- Work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and procedural guidelines
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Florida driver's license
- Pass criminal background check and drug screening
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to multitask in high-stress environments
- Clear speaking voice with excellent diction
- U.S. citizenship and residency in Florida
- Minimum age 18 at time of hire
