Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls for police, fire, and medical services
- Operate multi-line telephone systems and radio communication equipment
- Accurately enter and maintain detailed call information in CAD/RMS systems
- Provide clear, concise instructions to callers during emergency situations
- Coordinate resources and maintain situational awareness during critical incidents
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations regarding emergency communications
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information and records
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid New Mexico driver's license (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM with 90% accuracy
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Must be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Proficient with computer systems and basic software applications
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
