Responsibilities
- Process emergency/non-emergency calls with calm efficiency and precision
- Operate multi-channel radio systems and CAD software for dispatch coordination
- Provide clear, concise instructions to callers during critical incidents
- Maintain accurate incident logs and documentation per protocol
- Coordinate with police, fire, and EMS units during active emergencies
- Perform data entry and record maintenance in compliance with standards
- Participate in ongoing scenario-based training simulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Must pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Ability to type 40+ WPM (verified through assessment)
- Fluent English proficiency; bilingual (Spanish) strongly preferred
- Must obtain TCLEOS Basic Telecommunicator certification within 6 months
- Ability to remain composed under extreme pressure during crises
- No felony convictions or misdemeanor domestic violence charges
- Must pass hearing and vision examinations
