Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls, assess situations, and dispatch appropriate personnel
- Operate radio communication systems to coordinate police, fire, and medical responses
- Maintain accurate logs and records of all communications and incidents
- Provide critical information to first responders and the public during emergencies
- Utilize CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) systems for efficient call management
- Collaborate with other agencies and departments during multi-incident scenarios
- Participate in continuous training to maintain certification and improve response protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and polygraph examination
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM (tested during application process)
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
- Proficiency with computer systems and multi-tasking abilities
- Must be a U.S. citizen and meet residency requirements
- No prior felony convictions
