Responsibilities
- Process 911 emergency calls and non-emergency dispatch requests with precision and empathy
- Operate Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems and radio communications equipment
- Coordinate resources between police, fire, EMS, and other emergency services
- Maintain detailed incident logs and update real-time case information
- Apply NJSP protocols for crisis intervention and emergency response
- Provide critical information to field units during active incidents
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during multi-jurisdictional operations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (college preferred)
- Valid New Jersey driver's license with clean record
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM (tested during application process)
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and polygraph examination
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency status
- Clear speaking voice with excellent communication skills
- Ability to multitask in high-stress environments
- No felony convictions or domestic violence charges
