Responsibilities
- Answer and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls for police, fire, and medical services
- Operate computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems and radio communication equipment
- Relay critical information to field units and coordinate emergency responses
- Maintain detailed call logs and documentation of incidents
- Provide clear, calm instructions to callers during emergencies
- Collaborate with law enforcement, fire, and EMS personnel
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and protocol standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to type 40+ WPM with accuracy
- Excellent communication and active listening skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure in emergency situations
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Basic computer proficiency and willingness to learn technical systems
- No criminal record; ability to pass background check
