Responsibilities
- Receive, prioritize, and dispatch emergency/non-emergency calls for police, fire, and medical services
- Operate multi-channel radio systems and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) software
- Provide pre-arrival emergency instructions to callers during critical incidents
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation of all communications
- Coordinate with multiple agencies during complex emergency scenarios
- Perform data entry and record management in compliance with protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to remain calm and decisive under high-pressure situations
- Exceptional verbal communication and active listening skills
- Basic computer proficiency with willingness to learn specialized systems
- Must pass criminal background check, polygraph, and medical evaluation
