Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and administrative lines
- Dispatch police units using CAD systems with precise location/time-critical data
- Maintain detailed call logs and incident documentation per NIMS standards
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Operate radio equipment and emergency alert systems
- Provide crisis intervention and pre-arrival instructions to callers
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid NYS driver's license
- Ability to pass background check and psychological evaluation
- Typing speed minimum 40 WPM with 95% accuracy
- US citizenship or legal residency status
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/holidays
- Basic computer proficiency with MS Office suite
