Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency calls, dispatching appropriate police units to incidents
- Maintain accurate records of all communications and incidents using CAD/RMS systems
- Provide critical information to field officers and coordinate multi-agency responses
- Remain calm under pressure during critical incidents, natural disasters, and mass emergencies
- Operate radio equipment and specialized communication systems with precision
- Assist the public with non-emergency inquiries and direct resources appropriately
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Valid California Driver's License
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to pass thorough background investigation and psychological evaluation
- Clear diction and exceptional active listening skills
- U.S. citizenship or legal authorization to work
- No felony convictions or misdemeanor domestic violence charges
