Responsibilities
- Answer emergency/non-emergency calls with compassion and accuracy
- Dispatch police units using CAD/RAD systems and radio equipment
- Maintain detailed call logs and incident documentation
- Provide critical information to officers and other agencies
- Operate specialized communication equipment under supervision
- Participate in scenario-based training exercises
- Adhere to FCC regulations and department protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Typing speed of 35+ WPM (tested during interview)
- Fluency in English (Spanish proficiency preferred)
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- No felony convictions
- Strong multitasking abilities under pressure
- Availability for rotating shifts including nights/weekends
- Must pass psychological evaluation
