Responsibilities
- Receive and process emergency (911) and non-emergency calls with high accuracy and urgency.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical units to incidents using Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems.
- Monitor and coordinate the status of field units in real-time to optimize response times.
- Enter and maintain accurate incident reports, criminal history data, and status updates.
- Provide clear, concise instructions and support to officers in the field via radio.
- Perform routine checks of communication equipment and radio frequencies.
- Collaborate with other agencies and support the training of junior dispatch staff.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Colorado Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm, composed, and perform effectively under extreme pressure.
- Proficiency in basic computer operations and data entry.
- U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
- Previous experience in a call center or emergency services is preferred but not mandatory.
