Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls, prioritize incidents, and dispatch appropriate units
- Operate radio systems, computer-aided dispatch (CAD), and emergency notification equipment
- Maintain accurate logs of all communications and activities
- Provide critical information to officers, fire departments, and medical services
- Remain composed during high-stress situations and relay information clearly
- Utilize mapping software to determine optimal response routes
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and data security protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- U.S. citizenship and valid New Jersey driver's license
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and polygraph examination
- Strong typing proficiency (minimum 40 WPM) and computer literacy
- Exceptional communication and active listening skills
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanor offenses
- Must be at least 18 years old and legally eligible to work in the U.S.
