Responsibilities
- Process emergency/non-emergency calls using CAD systems with 100% accuracy
- Dispatch police units using radio communication protocols during high-stress situations
- Operate multiple communication systems simultaneously (phone, radio, data terminals)
- Maintain detailed incident records and prepare comprehensive reports
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during major incidents
- Provide crisis intervention and critical information to field personnel
- Adhere to all FCC regulations and departmental policies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to pass background investigation and polygraph examination
- Clear speaking voice with excellent diction (no speech impediments)
- Valid California driver's license
- U.S. citizenship or legal resident status
- No felony convictions and clean driving record
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/holidays
