Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and administrative lines
- Dispatch police, fire, and EMS units using CAD systems and radio communications
- Maintain detailed logs of all incidents, calls, and unit activities
- Provide critical information and instructions to callers during emergencies
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Operate computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems and communication equipment
- Monitor radio channels and maintain constant situational awareness
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 18 years of age (21 years for firearm certification)
- U.S. citizenship and valid Missouri driver's license
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and polygraph examination
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Clear speaking voice and exceptional communication skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanor offenses
