Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with speed and accuracy
- Dispatch police officers and emergency services to incidents
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and activities
- Operate radio systems, CAD software, and emergency notification tools
- Provide critical information to first responders during crisis situations
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during major incidents
- Remain calm and composed under high-pressure emergency conditions
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Strong typing skills (minimum 40 WPM)
- Excellent verbal communication and active listening abilities
- Basic computer proficiency with Windows OS
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Valid Maryland driver's license
- U.S. citizenship or legal resident status
