Responsibilities
- Monitor Emergency Systems: Receive and process 911 calls and non-emergency requests for service via radio and telephone systems.
- Dispatch Units: Rapidly assess situations and dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical personnel to the correct locations with all necessary details.
- Information Management: Enter critical data into Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems, ensuring accuracy and real-time updates.
- Support Operations: Provide information to callers, including directions, weather updates, and medical advice when appropriate.
- Shift Coordination: Work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays to ensure 24/7 coverage for the community.
- Quality Assurance: Assist in maintaining high standards of service through regular supervision and feedback during the training period.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Prior experience in customer service, call center operations, or law enforcement support is highly desirable.
- License: Valid Florida Driver’s License with a safe driving record.
- Health: Must pass a medical examination, including hearing and vision tests, to ensure ability to perform essential job functions.
- Skills: Strong verbal communication skills, ability to remain calm under pressure, and proficiency with computers and basic software.
- Background: No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history; must successfully pass a background investigation and drug screening.
