Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize incoming emergency (911) and non-emergency calls.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical units to the scene of incidents.
- Monitor police radio frequencies and unit status to ensure efficient response.
- Enter accurate and detailed information into Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems.
- Maintain detailed logs of all calls, dispatches, and unit activity.
- Provide vital information to responding officers and citizens in distress.
- Assist in the training of new dispatch personnel upon completion of the trainee program.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Valid Arizona Class D Driver's License with a good driving record.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to type a minimum of 35 words per minute.
- Ability to multi-task effectively while maintaining composure.
- Pass a comprehensive background investigation, drug screen, and medical evaluation.
