Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls with precision and empathy
- Dispatch police units and emergency services using provided communication equipment
- Maintain detailed logs of incidents and radio transmissions
- Operate computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems and mapping tools
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Provide clear, concise information to field personnel and the public
- Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols and departmental procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Florida driver's license
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with accuracy
- Ability to remain calm under high-pressure situations
- Strong verbal communication and active listening skills
- Basic computer proficiency and multitasking ability
- Pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Must be 18+ years old and a U.S. citizen
