Responsibilities

  • Receive, screen, and process incoming calls for service from the public and other agencies.
  • Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical units to incidents based on information received.
  • Maintain continuous radio contact with field units and relay vital information.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Ability to type a minimum of 35-40 words per minute (typing test may be administered).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to speak clearly over a radio.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress, emergency situations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be willing to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
