Responsibilities
- Receive and process incoming emergency and non-emergency calls for service.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical units to incident locations.
- Maintain accurate records in the Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system.
- Monitor radio frequencies and maintain constant communication with field units.
- Provide vital information to callers and coordinate scene resources.
- Ensure strict adherence to departmental policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or possess legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Valid Alaska driver's license with a good driving record.
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screen.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
