Responsibilities
- Monitor and dispatch emergency calls (911) and non-emergency requests for Police, Fire, and EMS units.
- Enter incident reports and dispatch logs into the Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system with high accuracy.
- Maintain clear and calm two-way radio communication with field officers during active incidents.
- Coordinate the response of resources to scenes involving medical emergencies, accidents, and criminal activity.
- Verify and update caller information to ensure responders have the correct location and details.
- Maintain strict adherence to department protocols and legal guidelines for emergency communications.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Strong typing skills (minimum 35 WPM required).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to remain composed and make quick decisions under high-stress pressure.
- Valid Driver’s License is required.
- Ability to pass a thorough background investigation, drug screening, and psychological evaluation.
