Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls with professionalism and accuracy
- Dispatch appropriate units to incidents using CAD systems
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and activities
- Coordinate with other emergency services (EMS, Fire, etc.)
- Remain calm under pressure during critical situations
- Provide life-saving instructions to callers when needed
- Adhere to all department policies and procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM (tested during application process)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in high-stress environments
- Basic computer proficiency
- Must be a U.S. citizen and 18+ years old
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
