Responsibilities
- Answer 911 and non-emergency calls, gathering critical information from citizens.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and EMS units to emergency scenes efficiently.
- Enter and maintain accurate incident reports and data in CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) systems.
- Monitor city surveillance systems and CCTV feeds to assist field units.
- Communicate clear and concise instructions to officers in the field during emergencies.
- Maintain a calm demeanor and high level of concentration during high-stress periods.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Strong typing skills (minimum 35 WPM preferred).
- Proficiency with computer systems and Windows-based applications.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and decisive under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
