Responsibilities
- Receive, screen, and prioritize incoming emergency and non-emergency calls with high accuracy and empathy.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical units to the correct locations using computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems.
- Maintain detailed and up-to-date incident logs and records in accordance with departmental standards.
- Communicate effectively with field personnel via radio, ensuring clear and concise information exchange.
- Provide essential information and assistance to the public and external agencies during non-emergency situations.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and access control systems to support security operations.
- Adhere to strict protocols regarding confidentiality and data security.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Ability to type a minimum of 35-40 words per minute (WPM) accurately.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Must be at least 18 years of age and a legal resident of the United States.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must possess a valid California Class C Driver’s License and a satisfactory driving record.
- No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history as determined by a background investigation.
