Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray machines, walk-through metal detectors, and explosive trace detection systems
- Conduct physical screening of passengers, carry-on luggage, and checked baggage
- Monitor security checkpoints and respond to potential security threats
- Enforce TSA regulations and security procedures with professionalism
- Document security incidents and maintain accurate screening records
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security operations
- Provide exceptional customer service to travelers while maintaining security protocols
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TSA Security Screening Badge
- Pass background investigation and drug screening
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn security technologies
- Must be willing to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
