Responsibilities
- Receive, screen, and process emergency (911) and non-emergency calls accurately and efficiently.
- Dispatch police units, fire services, and medical aid to incident locations in a timely manner.
- Enter and update incident reports, suspect descriptions, and property information into the CAD system.
- Maintain constant radio contact with field units to provide updates and receive instructions.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and traffic systems to assist in situational awareness.
- Provide information to the public regarding police services, road closures, and community events.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under high-pressure and stressful situations.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Basic computer proficiency and typing skills are preferred.
